Whilst the Academy is a new concept, some elements of the business model have been validated by Cre8Ventures, a subsidiary of Mentor Graphics (NASDAQ: MENT). In 2004 Carson Bradbury launched the Cre8Ventures initiative as a unique industry start-up business development vehicle.
Carson helped IMA to take off the ground. Carson is helping a similar Academy in Europe to take off the ground, this will be known as European Microelectronics Academy.
