Pillars of the Academy

The pillars of the Academy are the partners who provide invaluable assistance to create a world-class virtual incubation service to the microelectronic industry. This ecosystem comprise of:

Innovators

Key to the Academy will be innovators who have the promise of becoming highly successful global companies in a relatively short period of time. Innovators can come from the networks, Industrial partners or Knowledge based partners.

Platinum Partners: Through risk sharing, stakeholder partnerships within the microelectronics ecosystem (e.g. Electronic Design Automation [EDA] + Intellectual Property [I.P] + Manufacturing [Foundries], Design Services) the Academy will provide access to multi-million dollar tools and services that effectively represent the most significant numbers on the start-up Balance Sheet.

Blue Chip Partners see large markets coming and as a consequence they will effectively set the agenda for enterprise. This is enabled through their interest of getting first mover advantage by leveraging the emerging innovation coming out of the Academy

Financial Partners

The Academy is focused on getting the innovator to the Series A funding round with a strong boardroom, market defined, early adopter customers in place and even first silicon/product in place. The Academy will then introduce these de-risked investment opportunities to Venture Capitalists and Corporate investors to make added value cash investments and help scale the business, with arms length support from the Academy. Whilst the Academy will initially work in partnership with early stage investors it will be structuring a moderate sized Seed, Side Car fund alongside institutional investors.

Knowledge Partners

Through partnerships with Universities, the Academy will deliver educational services which cover both the commercial and technical need of microelectronic projects/enterprise. But has a business friendly timetable of delivery.

Incubation

The Academy will provide world class virtual incubation services to the community. As part of this relationship the Academy will provide a conduit into industry, through existing, trusted industry partnership channels that have relationships from the boardroom down to the labs.
